Crabs, bats and communists, in Cuba's greatest Soviet souvenir.
Here’s a treat for any concrete lovers.
Ever since my first visit to Skopje, Macedonia, I have been meaning to write an article about the city’s wild, brutalist architecture. I mentioned the trend last time I posted about Macedonia – in my article about the ‘Colourful Revolution‘ that was going down the last time I visited. But after several trips, I now have a fairly extensive photo album of brutalism in Skopje, and the time is drawing near to post an article dedicated solely to the city’s Yugoslav-era architecture.
You can take a look through my collection of images below. You might have seen some of these before, from older galleries, but after a number of visits I’ve now consolidated all my photos into one, comprehensive collection of Skopje brutalism.
Prepare to see a full story on this hitting the front page of the blog sometime soon!
